About Britney Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi, and grew up in Kentwood. She has an older brother and a younger sister, Jamie Lynn, who is also known as a singer and actress.
At the young age of three, Britney Spears took dance lessons, learned gymnastics and singing and participated in numerous competitions and children talent shows. When she was eight, her mother helped her to audition for the Mickey Mouse Club, where Britney was turned down, however. As a result, her mother enrolled her at the Professional Performing Arts School in New York. Numerous appearances and commercials followed. Britney played her first stage role in 1991 in "Ruthless". When she was eleven years old, she applied once again to the Mickey Mouse Club and was singned. She moved to Orlando, where she accompanied the later stars Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling in the Mickey Mouse Club for two years.
In 1996, Britney Spears signed her first record deal to start her solo career. Her song "... Baby One More Time" achieved her international breakthrough in 1999. The song immediately reached number one in the US charts and has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. For this success, Britney was awarded numerous prizes. The album “… Baby One More Time” and her second album "Oops! ... I Did It Again" both reached number one in the US album charts.
Britney's elaborate and perfectly planned stage shows with fireworks, rain on stage and free floating dance performances, were one of her secrets of success.
Her third album "Britney" was supposed to say goodbye to her image of a well-behaved teenager. With songs like "I'm A Slave 4 U" and "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" Britney showed her more adult side.
In the following years, Britney Spears made headlines with her kissing the pop icon Madonna at the MTV Video Music Awards 2003 and the quick marriage and immediate divorce with Jason Allen Alexander.
In 2004, she married Kevin Federline and gave birth to her first son Sean Preston a year later. In 2006, the second son named Jayden James followed. A short time later, Spears and Federline split up. After the marriage's failure, Britney Spears once again hit the headlines when she shaved her head in 2007 and got herself tattooed.
Her great comeback was celebrated in September 2007 with her song "Gimme More", which appeared on the album "Blackout". For the video of the single "Piece Of Me" Britney received an MTV Video Music Award in the category Video of the Year.
In October 2007, she lost sole custody of her sons to Kevin Federline and was sectioned to a psychiatric clinic in 2008, after barricading herself in her villa with her children for hours. Her guardian was her father, who manages Britney's fortune to this day.
At the end of 2008, her number one album "Circus" was released. With the single "Womanizer" Britney reached her second number one hit in the US. Also the following albums "Femme Fatale", "Britney Jean" and "Glory" were commercially successful.
In 2013, Britney Spears premiered the "Britney: Piece Of Me" show in Las Vegas which can be seen live in 2018 in Asia, Europe and North America.
