About Chance the Rapper

Chancelor Jonathan Bennett was born in Chicago in 1993. In his childhood he came into contact mainly with jazz and gospel music, but discovered his love for hip hop at an early age. He found special inspiration in the music of Lil Wayne, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco and Kirk Franklin. In the sixth grade Bennett started rapping with a friend and recorded his first mix tape "10 Day" in 2011. The project came about during a ten-day school ban after Bennett was caught smoking marijuana. Thanks to the mix tape the young musician achieved first attention and managed to make first contacts. In 2012, he was featured on Childish Gambino's song "They Don't Like Me" on his sixth mixtape "Royalty" and performed as opening act on his North American tour.
Bennett's second mixtape "Acid Rap" was downloaded over 1.5 million times and received largely positive reviews.
In 2016, Chance the Rapper played a major role in the work of Kanye West's album "The Life of Pablo" and was featured in Macklemore's song "Need to Know".
Chance the Rappers' third mixtape "Coloring Book" was released in 2016 and reached over 57 million downloads, putting it on eighth place in the US charts and being celebrated by critics. One year later, the rapper won three Grammy Awards.
In 2018, Chance the Rapper released four new songs, raising hopes for a new album.
