When did Ed Sheeran got famous?

Edward Christopher Sheeran was born on 17 February 1991 in Halifax, England. After high school he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and released his first EP “No. 5 Collaborations Project” on his own in 2011. In the same year he was signed to Asylum Records and finished his first studio album called “+”. His debut rocketed onto the top of the British and Australian album charts, reached number five in the US and won seven platinum awards. For his song “The A Team” he was honoured the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. One year later Sheeran won two Brit Awards – one for Best British Male and another for British Breakthrough Act. In 2013 he performed his breakthrough song together with Elton John at the Grammy Awards.
