Enrique Iglesias was born in Madrid in 1975 and moved to Miami at the age of eight with his father, the famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. Later, he studied economics at the University of Miami but dropped out of college to record his self-titled debut album in Toronto which appeared in 1995. For the album, he was awarded a Grammy in the category "Best Latin Pop Album" in 1997 despite rather mediocre chart positions.
His second album "Vivir", which was recorded in Spanish just like his debut, landed in 33rd place in the US charts and reached platinum status with over one million copies sold.
In the summer of 1999, Iglesias recorded the worldwide successful song "Bailamos" for the film Wild Wild West, reaching number one on the US charts. Following this success, he released his first English-language album "Enrique", which features the hits "Sad Eyes", "Rhythm Divine" and "Be With You". The success of this album was even topped by his album "Escape" in 2001, climbing to the top of the charts in the UK and Australia and selling more than 270,000 copies in the first week in the US.
For the 2010 released album "Euphoria", which was his first bilingual album, he recorded the song "I Like It" with Pitbull. Other guest musicians on the album were Ludacris, Usher and Lil Wayne. Together with Sean Paul, he recorded the summer hit "Bailando" in 2014, which had great international success.
Overall, the singer has sold over 100 million albums and is considered as the second most important Latino singer after Luis Miguel.
