Fall Out Boy was founded in 2001 in a suburb of Chicago and consists of front man and guitarist Patrick Stump, guitarist Joe Trohman, bassist Pete Wentz and drummer Andy Hurley.
With their debut album "From Under The Cork Tree" the band had their first major commercial success in 2005. The album won numerous awards and achieved double platinum status in the USA.
The album "Infinity On High", which was released in 2007, even topped its predecessor. It immediately landed at number one in the American charts and sold over 260,000 copies in the first week. The single "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" climbed to second place in the single charts even before the album was released and held its position for several weeks.
The 2008 album "Folie à Deux", which is very different in style from the previous albums, features artists such as Lil Wayne, Panic At The Disco and Pharrell Williams.
In 2010, Fall Out Boy announced that they would be taking an indefinite musical break, but that, according to Patrick Stump, they did not want to seperate. During this time the band members worked on their own projects.
In 2013, Fall Out Boy finally came back and released the album "Save Rock And Roll". Two years later, "American Beauty / American Psycho" was released and in January 2018 their newest album "Mania" came out, with which the band is going on a big tour through the USA this year.
