George Ezra facts

George Ezra Barnett was born on June 7, 1993 in Hertford as a child of two teachers. During his school years, he played in various cover bands before he began to study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in Bristol in 2011. As his musical idols he names Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. Two years later, his first EP "Did You Hear The Rain?" appeared including his hit "Budapest", which celebrated great success especially in Italy. His debut album "Wanted On Voyage" was released in 2014 and climbed to the third place in the UK charts and even reached the top of the charts after a few weeks. The following year, the album was consideres as the third most sold album of 2014 in the UK after Ed Sheeran's "x" and Sam Smith's "In The Lonely Hour".
In early 2015, George Ezra sang as a support act for Sam Smith and the Irish singer Hozier on their North American tours.
In 2017, George Ezra played "top secret" concerts in the UK and Ireland, where he presented his new songs in advance. His new album "Staying At Tamara's" was released in March 2018 with the release of the songs "Don’t Matter Now", "Paradise", “Pretty Shining People” and “Hold My Girl”. The album reached number one on the British charts just like its predecessor.
Since this year, the singer with the characteristic deep voice also runs a podcast called "George Ezra & Friends", in which he interviewed Ed Sheeran in its very first episode in February. Other guests included Rag'n'Bone Man, Lily Allen and Elton John.
