Facts about Katy Perry

As a pastor's daughter, the young Katy Perry, who is actually called Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, was only allowed to hear religious music and even sang in the gospel choir. The first time she heard Queen's music, her love for pop music was awakened once and for all. As Katy Hudson she released an album of the same name in 2001, on which even gospel songs can be found. When she changed her name to Katy Perry, the pastor's daughter started her musical rebellion.
After settling with her ex-boyfriend in the song "Ur So Gay", Perry's album "One Of The Boys" was released in 2008. It included her hit "I Kissed A Girl", with which the singer became world-famous. In the US and Australia, the title landed on number one in the charts. Katy Perry even recorded her single "Hot n Cold" in the fantasy language Simlish for the computer game "The Sims 2".
Together with Snoop Dogg Katy Perry recorded the song "California Gurls" from her third album "Teenage Dream". The song reached platinum status in many countries. Her single "Firework" also reached the Top Ten in over 20 countries. After "Last Friday Night" took the first place in the US charts, Katy Perry was the second artist to have five singles of an album in the first place of the US charts after Michael Jackson. T
he singer’s winning streak continued with the following albums "Prism" and "Witness". With "Witness" Katy Perry is on a big world tour since 2017.
