When Michael Bublé was a teenager, his grandfather, whom he described as his best friend in an interview, encouraged him to attend a jazz talent competition in Vancouver. Since Michael Bublé was still too young at that time, he was later disqualified despite his victory. At 17, however, he won again a youth talent show. In the following years Bublé appeared as an Elvis double and as a performer in a musical.
At a wedding in 2000, Bublé met the manager of Warner Brothers, who signed him and recorded his debut album with him. The album named after Michael Bublé appeared in 2003 and reached the Canadian charts. Also in the US, UK and Australia, the album was successful and was eventually awarded platinum. The album consists of old classics from different decades, which were reinterpreted by Michael Bublé.
In 2001 Bublé was seen alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie "Duets" as well as in "Totally Blonde" and in 2003 in "The Snow Walker". In the same year he released his album "Christmas", which is one of his biggest hit with 9.9 million records sold. His second album "It's Time" was just as successful as its predecessor and paved the way into the mainstream for Michael Bublé. The release "Home", a self-creation of Bublé, was a worldwide hit.
Bublé's third album "Call Me Irresponsible" was released in 2007 and features duets with Boyz II Men and Ivan Lins.
For his album "Crazy Love" Michael Bublé won his third Grammy in the category Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2011. His eighth album "To Be Loved," featuring the well-known single "It's A Beautiful Day," was number one in the US charts, making it his fourth consecutive album to head the American charts. With this album Bublé also secured his fourth Grammy Award. Also in Austria, Switzerland and the UK "To Be Loved" landed on the first place in the charts.
A difficult vocal cord surgery delayed the release of his ninth album "Nobody But Me", which finally appeared in October 2016. For the single of the same name Bublé worked together with Black Thought from the rap band The Roots. In the same year Bublé also launched the women's fragrance By Invitation.
