About Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg grew up in poor conditions in Long Beach, California, early became a member of a gang and spent some time in prison at a young age. However, he finally decided to change his life and entered the music business. At the beginning of the 90s he was discovered by Dre and signed on his record label. Snoop Dogg was already a guest singer on Dr. Dres's extremely successful debut album "The Chronic". One year later, Snoop Dogg's first album "Doggystyle" was released and reached good sales and chart positions in the US. During the recording Snoop Dogg was arrested for allegedly having shot an enemy gang member. He claimed to have acted in self-defense, which the court recognized and eventually acquitted him. At the end of the 90s he parted ways with Dr. Dres label and released his next three albums with No Limit Records. "Da Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told" made it to number 1 in the US charts and received a platinum award. Over the years Snoop Dogg released eight more albums with numerous guest appearances, including Pharrell Williams, Nate Dogg and R. Kelly.
In 2012 Snoop Dogg visited Jamaica and recorded the reggea album "Reincarnated". At the same time the documentary of the same name about his experiences in Jamaica appeared. For the reggea release, he chose the stage name Snoop Lion, allegedly given to him by a Rastafarian priest.
In addition to the music business Snoop Dogg produced a hugely successful pornographic film, founded a clothing company, appeared as an actor in various films and traines a high school football team. He has been married since 1997 and has two sons and a daughter.
