Spice Girls facts:

The Spice Girls are the most successful girl group of all times. The band was formed in 1993 in a competition in which the five girls won against 400 competitors. At the time, the Spice Girls were still called The Touch. The band’s role models were the then so successful boy bands like the Backstreet Boys and Take That.
Each band member was assigned an alter ego, Emma Bunton became Baby Spice, Mel B became Scary Spice, Victoria Beckham (then Adams) Posh Spice, Mel C became Sporty Spice and Geri Halliwell became Ginger Spice. In 1997, the Spice Girls won the Brit Award for Best Single and Best Music Video for their debut hit "Wannabe". Soon they became world-famous outside the UK and played sold-out shows all over Europe and the USA.
After their third album "Forever" released in 2000 didn't sell as well as hoped, the Spice Girls decided to go separate ways. In 2007, the five members got together again to go on their last world tour.
Over the past year, there has been endless speculation about a reunion but a deal has finally been signed. While the tour reportedly doesn’t start until 2019, Mel B recently announced that she’s checking into rehab after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress syndrome. Music mogul Simon Fuller is masterminding the comeback, and it stands to net the girls around £12million each should the tour be a sell-out.

In the meantime, watch their hit single Wannabe:
