About Stereophonics:

In 1992, the friends Kelly Jones, Richard Jones and Stuart Cable founded the band Tragic Love Company in the village of Cwmaman in South Wales, with which they mainly performed cover songs.
Later, inspired by the gramophone of Stuart Cables' grandmother, they renamed themselves Stereophonics.
In 1996 they were signed on the new label V2 and released their first album "Word Gets Around". Early on, they already celebrated their first success with their gloomy guitar pop and in 1998 they received the Brit Award in London in the category Best New Band.
The following five albums all reached number one in the British album charts, making the Stereophonics one of the UK's most successful bands.
After the release of the album "You Gotta Go There To Come Back" in 2003, the drummer Stuart Cable left the band due to internal conflicts with the other members and was first replaced by Steve Gorman and then by Javier Weyler. For the following tour, the Stereophonics got the guitarist Adam Zindani on board.
On June 7, 2010, former drummer Stuart Cable was found dead in his home in Llwydcoed at the young age of 40. The band, deeply hit, eventually decided to continue their music to the joy of their fans. In 2012, Javier Weyler finally left the band. Their new drummer was Jamie Morrison.
In 2017, the tenth studio album "Scream Above The Sounds" was released.
