If you take a look at the size of the huge city Berlin, it isn´t easy to find the perfect Christmas Market. But why choosing? You can visit most of the markets from November till December – enough time to take a look at all of them and to feel the magic on every single market. The best thing – many of those markets offer some cool attractions for the whole family and especially for the little ones.

Christmas pyramide at “Alexanderplatz”

Not only famous in Berlin, the “Alexanderplatz” is an important place and hotspot, when you want to do some shopping or while you´re doing one of the historic sightseeing tours. From the 25th November to 26th December 2019, the market opens its doors and offers people delicious mulled wine, known as “Glühwein”, bright lights all over the market and – of course – good music. At over 100 stalls you can find souvenirs, crafts and good tasting food. For those who are looking for a special highlight: The Christmas pyramid is a good spot to take a break, drink some mulled wine and eat a typical Berlin sausage.

Christmas Market at the Red City Hall

The Christmas market at the Red City Hall shows visitors how beautiful Berlin can be. Surrounded from historical buildings and a bright ferris-wheel in the middle of the square, the Christmas market is a special one. The Christmas stalls offer the opportunity to buy all kinds of snacks and drinks. From the 25th of November to the 29th of December 2019, visitors will be able to enjoy Berlin and look out for the Brandenburg Gate from the 50-metre-high panorama ferris-wheel. If you have some extra time – feel free to do some last Christmas shopping and to do some sightseeing in the beautiful German city.

“Gendarmenmarkt” – a Must-Do in Berlin

If you visit Berlin at Christmas time you cannot miss the Christmas market at the “Gendarmenmarkt”. Over 800,000 visitors every year will show you, that this Christmas Market has more than just food and wine. For all visitors, who want to do some last Christmas-Shopping – the market is open from the 25th of November to the 31st of December 2019. In the white wrapped and bright stalls, you will find toys for the little ones and homemade candles, as well as crafts and accessories. All the shopping and strolling around will make you pretty hungry, but don’t worry - the stalls will offer you treats and tasty food.

Charlottenburg Palace – a unique view

Once the residence of Sophie Charlotte, the square in front of the famous castle will switch from the 25th of November to the 26th of December 2019 into a great Christmas wonderland. The historic castle offers a romantic evening with a special and unique view. The Christmas market at Charlottenburg Palace focusses on natural materials and decoration – those who are looking for some plastic items are definitely at the wrong place.

You are looking for some yummy treats? Try some roasted almonds or one of the sweet apples. If you want to visit with your whole family – a ride on one of the Carousels will guarantee a lot of fun.

Potsdamer Platz – time to grab your sledge

Besides Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz is also one of the busiest places in Berlin. Every year you can find a huge ice rink and a cool Toboggan – time to grab your sledge! Winter Wonderland meets Christmas market, while giving you the perfect Christmas season. If you want to relax or just want to take a walk, you can go to one of the many stalls and have a drink or two with your friends and family. The Christmas Market at Potsdamer Platz opens its doors from the 25th of November to 26th of December 2019.

Pure Culture with a hint of an old town

Situated in the middle of the old town buildings, the Spandau Christmas Market is the ideal place for a Christmas walk. From 25th November to 22nd December 2019, around 250 to 400 stalls offer a huge variety of decorations, souvenirs and international food and treats. The culture brewery “Kulturbrauerei” invites visitors to explore the Nordic Christmas market in a cosy and romantic atmosphere. Finnish and Swedish drinks as well as the famous Kötbullar guarantee a good mood. Looking for Scandinavia in the middle of Berlin? Not a problem for the famous and huge German capitol.

As we mentioned at the begging, Berlin offers a big variety of Christmas markets. What about the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church? Opening its doors from 25th November 2019 to 05th January 2020. The collected money for the good tasting mulled wine will be donated – a good reason to support it!
