The British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran announced earlier that he will take a year-long break after his current “Divide” world tour ends in September 2019. He told BBC Radio Two: “After this, September is the end of tour next year, then I’m going to do another blackout and go away for a year. It worked last time for both me and the public, I think it’s good to have a little break,” and added that “the next album will be no earlier than 2020”.

This statement means fans can very likely expect a new album in late 2020. Like most artists, Ed Sheeran will probably go on another tour after the release of the new album and present it in the UK and the rest of Europe as well as maybe even the USA and Australia.

In early July 2019 Ed Sheeran released his collaborative album “No. 6 Collaborations Project” with guest appearances of artists like Justin Bieber, Travis ScottCardi B and Bruno Mars. It features numerous hit singles including “I Don’t Care” and “Antisocial”. With this new music material in his pockets it gets even more likely that the 28-years-old British singer will come to the world’s stages in 2020.

In a recent interview that can be watched on his YouTube channel Ed Sheeran revealed that he has been struggling with mental health problems like anxiety for a very long time. His sudden fame after his 2017 hit “Shape of You” intensified his bad situation as he is recognized everywhere he goes and gets swarmed by fans as soon as he leaves the house.
This is also one reason for him to take break after his current tour and recharge his batteries so he has enough energy for his upcoming album to be as good as excpected.
As loving fans we only want the best for Ed Sheeran and of course allow him to enjoy quiet and relaxation in these crazy times.
