Paris is known for its artsy cinema scene and celebrates it rightfully so. Who doesn’t love a good movie starring Alain Delon, Gérard Depardieu or Marion Cotillard? And it gets even better under a starry summer sky in one of Paris’ beautiful open air cinemas (cinema en plein air). The entry to all of these events is free!

You have to bring your own chairs so you can really have the living room feeling under the Parisian sky.
The program will follow in a few days but it is already planned to show short films prior to the main movies. La Chaise et l’Ecran will take place from 26 July to 9 August 2019. Two locations are already confirmed: The Town Hall of the 11th Arrondissement and the Jardin de la Folie Titon.
Festival Silhouette
Since 2002 the association Silhouette has been organizing open air cinemas in the 12th Arrondissement in Paris. It shows a carefully curated selection of short films for a week. It aims to surprise and shock its audience with thought-provoking movie subjects and designs. The festival Silhouette is one of France’s most important short film festivals as it has created famous directors and actors. There will also be some concerts to listen to. The program will be released on their website in a few weeks. This year the festival will take place from 30 August until 7 September.
