Christmas Markets in Paris 2019 – facts, tips and highlights!

If you plan to make holidays over the Christmas days in Paris this year, make sure to visit one of the beautiful Christmas markets out there. Like in many other European cities, they offer small stalls and a lot of delicious food. We will tell you, where you can find them!

For those who first think about Germany, when they hear the word “Christmas market” they should definitely take a look on Paris too. With its small stalls, bright lights and beautiful scenery, the city will offer you a great variety of Christmas markets. For many known as the “City of Lights”, there will be even more lights during the Christmas season. Make sure to see them all! Find out, why you should combine sightseeing and a warm mulled wine and why you should visit some of the markets at night.

Christmas Market La Défense

You can find this Market in the west of Paris. It is located in the business district – not a typical tourist spot. If you are in the western part and visiting the triumphal arch, make a short stop at one of the little stalls and taste some mulled wine. As it is not directly in the City Centre, it is a good spot to explore the typical french food and to enjoy a Christmas Market with a little bit less stress. After your walk on the bright market, you can do some shopping in the big Shopping Centre right next to the market. A good excuse to take a walk to the business district, isn´t it?

La Magie de Noël

For many known as „Christmas Market at Champs-Élysées” this market changed its name and location in 2018 after a dispute with the Mayor of Paris. With a new spot in Paris and a new name as well, they are back again. La Magie de Noël means “The Magic of Christmas” – and you will definitely find it here. You can visit this market from 22. November to 29. December 2019 at Tuileries Garden.  With an ice rink and typical French Food, you can enjoy your stay with the whole family.

Christmas Market at Notre-Dame

Starting in December, this little market is compared to the others a bit smaller. If you are looking for some last-minute shopping ideas or some handcrafted gifts for your friends and family, you have to take a look at this Christmas Market next to Notre-Dame. Even it is not directly at Notre-Dame, you will have a good view. The Market has it´s place across the street at Square Viviani. If you are doing some sightseeing in Paris, this little Market will be a good place to take a warm drink.

Trocadéro Christmas Market at Eiffel Tower

The famous Christmas Market at the Eiffel Tower is a special Highlight in Paris. You can take a look at the beautiful Tower with it´s many lights and enjoy a warm drink and some delicious food. Instead of visiting the Eiffel Tower during the day, you should wait until it gets darker in the evening. Thousands of lights at the Tower and the many Christmas stalls around guarantee a beautiful time.

Around 100 stalls are offering mulled wine, sweets and savoury food, handcrafted gifts and accessories. For those Canadian Fans out there – every year you can find a small stall directly at the Tower which offers delicious Canadian Food with Maple Syrup. Many reasons to visit the beautiful Trocadéro Christmas Market.

Christmas Market at Les Halles

Even though this market is a new one in Paris, it is one of the largest in town. Traditional stalls with good food, like crêpes and roasted chestnuts, take their place around the Fontaine des Innocents. This market is a “Must Do”, if you are looking for a huge variety of traditional, french and non-traditional food. You will find everything at Les Halles. Make sure to visit this market in the evening, to see those many lights at the huge 20 metres fir tree.
